Paasi Parupu : Paasi Parupu which can be used in the preparation of both savory and sweet dishes. Paasi Parupu has a light sweet flavor and a soft texture which is easy to digest and also delivers an impeccable taste in the food. It is widely used to feed babies since it contains Fiber, Protein, Vitamin B complex, Calcium and Potassium which is good for the baby's health. Paasi Parupu can be pressure-cooked along with chopped onions, tomatoes, chillies and ginger-garlic paste, and then tempered with jeera in ghee. Cooked Paasi Parupu along with jaggery and milk is used in Tamil Nadu to make an elaichi-tinged kheer called payasam.
